The REC.ON residency welcomes visual artists, writers, researchers, journalists, curators, and PhD students seeking a peaceful space for focused creative work. The residency is an integral part of REC.ON, a pioneering sustainable rural development project founded in 2019. The space is housed in the restored and salvaged buildings of a century-old goat farm and house. Artists have access to a private, half-hectare plot at the foot of the Sierra María-Los Vélez mountain range—a space that allows for creative freedom, inspiration from nature, and a profound haven for the creative process.
Daily life at the Residence combines peace and quiet, ideal for individual work, with the proximity of a supportive, creative, and eco-conscious community. A unique attraction for our Residents is sharing the common spaces at REC.ON with digital nomads, eco-conscious travelers, and those seeking a deeper purpose in life. This inspiring mix brings spontaneous interactions and fresh perspectives that beautifully transcend the traditional bubble of the art world.
